THE SUN CHROMOSPHERE Taken by GABRIEL OCTAVIAN CORBAN on February 14, 2015 @ Romania , Bucharest

This is a picture taken with a Day Star Quark H-alpha filter - Chromosphere model, on Feb 14, 2015. I used a Sky Watcher ED 120 telescope and a FLIR USB3 Grasshopper mono camera at 1/160 seconds exposure for each frame. The wavelength of H-alpha frequency is of 6562,81 Angstroms , being included by the visible red part of the electromagnetic spectrum. The used filter has a pass-band which select the width of the band, which is o.5 Angstroms for this type of filter. This width of band is suitable for the Chromosphere details, revealing all types of elements which can appear on the disk: filaments, spots, flares or pladges.
